Moving to Indonesia with kids

Hi,

Moving abroad is an adventure for both parents and children: settling overseas is a challenge for each family member.

How was the move to Indonesia for your kids?

How did they manage to adapt to their new environment?

Share with us your experience and advice on settling in Indonesia with children.

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

My wife and I and three of our children left Antwerp Belgium in 1994 and moved down to Medan North Sumatera. In the beginning, It was a little bit difficult for the children to get use of the local weather, but it was only for a short period.  Put away your worries because most children can easily adapted to their new environment. My kids were able to communicate in Indonesian within a week of their new local school. Everything seems difficult in the beginning, but you'll anyhow get over it in no time, and it is just a matter of time, that's all. In other to comfort them with the weather, every weekend I used to take them to a colder place like Brastagi; Lake Toba and Sipirok.
Hope this will give you an idea about your moving to Indonesia.

Best Regards
