Driving license for a pakistani

You can use your international driving license only if your on a VISIT visa, you cannot use it if your on WORK visa. You will need to obtain a Bahrain driving license. kindly go through the below mentioned posts which will give you information regarding obtaining a license.

Really? I have my license from my country & an international driving permit & drive on a work visa. Bought a car they didn't say anything about me converting my license!!! 😕

I am also from Islamabad, Pakistan.
I have Pakistan driving license and even i have ISO Certificate from Iqra Driving school.
But in Pakistan we have right hand driving but in gulf you have left hand driving due to this reason gulf or bahrain traffic never accept right hand driving license.
And Believe me even if you are good driver in Rwp,Loh,Isb .... when you come on the right hand driving you need at least 5-10 days ..... to be comfortable and all traffic laws understanding...

Its all my personal experience.

According to the agent we are using you are able to use your UK driving license for a maximum of a year.  BUT once I have a residency permit the law states that I need to go and get a Bahraini driving license.

For a person who holds a UK license this is a very straightforward thing to do (hubby did his a while ago!) in that you turn up, have a quick eye check, pay some money and get your new license (I think I have that right - one of the others on this forum who has already been through the process will correct anything if not!! )
