Residence in malta/gozo

hi,
I am looking for advice on retiring in gozo, i am in receipt of a private pension currently being paid in uk, i am 43 yrs old (retired due to ill health) if i transfer my pension payment direct to malta do i lose uk health care etc? what are the advantages of switching the payment to malta? also can i still obtain residence if my income is paid in the uk?

thanks

Roger

what matters is not where the payment goes, but where you are resident

As George say what counts is where you are residing.

Malta only really cares about your money.Especially, do you have enough to live here, pay rent and health insurance?

If you have a state pension from the UK you can switch your health insurance to Malta .Otherwise you will need a private health insurance for Malta.

All you have to show here in Malta is that you are self-sufficient.Then you can become a resident.

Only true for non-UK EU citizens. UK citizens can use the bilateral agreement to provide enough health cover for residency purposes
