Hello everybody. Considering a PhD at Gothenburg

Hello all,

My name is Harry, I am from Greece, and I am 30 years old.

I have just applied for a PhD position an the University of Gothenburg in the Dept of Plant and Environmental Sciences.

I have studied agriculture in Greece and in 2006 moved to Michigan in the USA and did my masters in horticulture there.

Is anybody studying at the city of Gothenburg? How is life there for an international? Is it difficult to adjust? I really enjoyed working in a multicultural environment in the US and I am wondering how are things in Gothenburg.

Also if I get accepted, I am thinking to learn Swedish. The best way to understand somebody's culture is to learn the language I guess. Is it a difficult language?

Please share any experiences you might have with me. I would be happy to discuss more.

Harry

Hi Harry!
I see you wrote that message a while ago now... did you get the PhD you applied for? If so, have you started already?

I'm also doing a PhD at Uni. of Gothenburg. Happy to answer questions if you have any!
