Meal choices..your thoughts

I wonder what y'all (expats) typically eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. I know VN has a lot of cuisine choices but do you follow your diet as if you were living in your home country? For me, I typically start with a bowl of cereal and banana for breakfast, then a cold subsandwich for lunch, and dinner can be anything ranging from pasta to Chinese take out. I typically snack on granola bars, fruits and Gatorade throughout the day. I'm not sure if I can eat VN food all day long. What do y'all eat while living in VN?

I ate "banh my" with egg, sausage for breafast; rice, Vietnam sausage (chả Hà nội) and salad from beet greens sprouts for lunch.
And my dinner, continue eating beet greens sprouts, but making spring rolls, because today I harvested this sprouts so much. I could't eat all of this :D

BTW, I am not an expat :D.

Is it 'banh mi' or 'banh my'? I don't know much about Vietnamese writing but I've seen the menu here in Dallas and they all spelled 'banh mi'. So which is correct?

In a month, I ate piza, hamber, KFC... but I still couldn't overweight. Or maybe because I am a person who are easy to lose weight :D. If I want me to be fat, just some days eat and eat, no work so hard, I will gain some weight; but only some days I didn't eat well, work so hard, I can lose some kgs :D

Jim,
Where are you from? I can't distinguish your national flag. Also, I'm not a journalist. My background is far from that. I'm just a southern guy wanting to know about y'all's lifestyle away from home. Is it difficult to maintain the same lifestyle as you were before in your home country? How much adjustment do you have to take to make yourself feel comfortable living in a foreign place? I need to be prepared once I'm there to visit for a few months. Much appreciated for your feedback.

Vietnamese hamburgers and pizzas and other so called American foods aren't the same. Not only the portion size is smaller but the caloric contents are way less. This is why people in other countries don't get morbidly obese as us Yankees. If you don't believe me just Google 'Nathan's hot dog eating contest, 4th of July'.

Yes, just saw many photos from that contest!
Maybe you are right about the caloric. But I think I am really a lucky person, who can adjust myselft easily. Not many people can do that, so still have many very thin and very fat Vietnamese people.
When I feel myselft not strong enough, I will try to do exercises, play badminton... just go to gym in this month, because last month, when I had to walk a lot, I felt my feet were easy to be sore. I never let myself to be weak :D, can't work and play hard!

breakfast: I like a banh mi or broken rice -- or something more simple, like yogurt and fruit. hot/cold coffee and orange juice from the local green oranges.

lunch: banh mi, something wrapped in rice paper, various other VN foods (whatever i stumble upon), fried rice, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fast food chain (it always reminds me of back home), sample yet another pizza place in hopes of finding something decent. also more fruit.

evening meal: banh mi, various VN foods, rarely western food unless I go out to a restaurant. and yet more fruit

Just a note, I make a lot of my banh mi-- I'm usually after a fusion of Paris baguette sandwiches and VN sandwiches.
I'll usually eat VN foods; but for home sickness food cravings I'll do fast food, something with peanut butter or pizza.
