Could you advise me please , is it possible for expatriate with Tanzanian working permit and visa , to obtain a firearm permit in Dar es Salaam ?
What is the procedure , how long . What is more easy - to apply for the weapon permit as a hunter or from security reasons ?

Yes you can own firearms, we have a few. :-) If you bring a gun with you in TZ it can be a long and difficult process. You need to go get help from a local. You have to go through around 5 different offices to obtain everything that you need. If you buy the gun in Tanzania then it is a lot less difficult and the person that sold you the gun should be able to help you. I believe that you don't have to specify if it is for hunting or security.
