Driving in the East Timor

Hi,

What do you think of the way people drive in the East Timor? How different is it from your home country?

Respecting the road safety rules, driving etiquette such as general courtesy, speed excess… what are the characteristics of the driving style in the East Timor?

Share with us the difficulties one may face when driving in the East Timor: peak hours, road conditions, accident, etc. and your advice to drive safely in the country.

Thank you in advance for participating,

Maximilien

The roads have heaps of large potholes and the driving is what you expect from a third world country. Better off having a local drive you around.

When you drive you must be extra careful, particularly you must watch out for the bikers. Most of the times, they don't pay attention to the way they ride their motorcycles or the road. They don't seem to care about traffic rules either.
