Hi, there are meanwhile a lot of places where you can go to a pub etc.
Even more and more western "style" restaurants
open more and more (Singaporean influence)
I recommend to start at the Bierhaus in Sentosa. They have the best Mojito I ever got and German food, but also Rabbit food :-)

Top attractions in JB

Ok there are a few pubs and places to eat and some very backward shopping malls with dirty disgusting toilets. But realistically Singapore is the place to go for a good weekend. Singapore is far more exciting than KL and KL is far better than JB.
Someone I knew from UK after many years in the ME spent 6 months in JB. She hated it as not much to do so left as quickly as she could.
Singapore expats call JB the "toilet of Malaysia" due to pollution and cheap brothels used by Singaporeans. I went there a few months ago and really can't disagree with that description!
