Tips for getting your first job in Vietnam

That all depends on who you are, where you're from, what qualifications and experience you have, etc, etc, it's not just  simple questions of where to look and what to do, ( unless you're a VN, but then they wouldn't be asking that on this site? ).

I agree, it's not just one size fits all and in any case, I think looking for a job in VN or any other place is about the same. The rest you could ask Google

As per the original post, be a 'young' professional...some language schools are now advertising upper age limits for the applicant as young as 30..other areas of work I would not know...SO, if you are not 'young' try to be 'young' again lol...AND, not always easy I know but try to bring a decent 'float' so you do not get too desperate and work for a relatively low salary..and, if you can, try to get paid weekly/daiy so you are not working too far in advance

NETWORKING. simply the best way. wide range of networking events exists both HN & HCMC.
the best thing is to find several LOCAL fireds or close connections with experts in the field you would like to work.
you can also use linkedin to find people in your industry.
online job resources are good and easy, BUT:
you just cant find all  existing vacancies on vietnamworks. (expecially top management level)
employer need to pay for both - advertisement and cv views, so if you dont have any expirience in VN, its quite hard to stand out.
even if you submit the cv online, sometimes you canot get a clear feedback, which is important to understand where to "dig".

We have to continue our efforts until and unless we achieve our goal. Never look back and tired. The output will be a must.
