The book we are studying at the university from is called "Suomen mestari" 1, by Sonja Gehring and Sanni Heinzmann. It's for absolute beginners, but, since it's all in Finnish, you would need a dictionary first. Other than that, it's a pretty good material.

Hi, we use "Hyvin menee 1" by Satu Heikkila & Pirkko Majakangas. You can get also a CD supplement and it's for absolute beginners, but you should get a dictionary or buy its third part containing dictionary (sanakirja in Finnish).

I downloaded a pdf book named "Teach yourself finnish" It consists mainly in phrases and the basics of finnish, It also has two cds with some more phrases ^^ you can look for it in google, its free
