Health Care Workers

Hi there!

I am a Community Healthcare worker (basically a District Nurse)in the UK, Specialising in wound care/tissue viablitly, catheter/bowel care, immunisations and paliative care, I've also worked as a treatment room nurse in a doctors surgery.

Does anyone know if there are any similar positions in the Mauritius? Or is it all hospital based? Are the pay and conditions better in the private or state run hospitals?

Any advice from anyone working in healthcare would be really helpful.

Thanks

Donna

may be you can work in a private clinic ,,, in the public service, it is complete chaos,, i have been student nurse for 6 months around 1997,, i know their mentality .. they have not changed even today ..in 2010 ,

I ask you a question  simply  guess why  they do not feed bed ridden  patients regularly....?

concerning the pay in the public service, it is around Rs 14000 per months for a newly qualified nursing officer to RS 25000 per month after 20 years of service

if you like your noble job,, i suggest you open a small home for elderly people, this is becoming a priority here in Mauritius...

i know it is a heavy investment but

you train your own local health care personnal , and you will succeed

Hi there

maybe you could contact the new Apollo Bramwell Hospital in Moka. I believe there is an English head of Nursing who may be able to guide you better. I'm sorry I don't know her name but they will be able to help you if you call them.

Good luck
