Is Nikah Wedding legally binding in the UAE if not registered?

Dear all,

I am writing to you a bit confused.

I met a Christian girl who told me she had a muslim wedding that was never subsequently registered legally in the UK. I.e. the couple are not considered to be husband and wife under UK law.

Does anyone know if that would be the case in the UAE? I.e., IN THE UAE would the woman be considered to be committing adultery if she is with a man which is not the man she married in the non registered muslim wedding in the UK? Does the wedding need to be registered for the marriage to be legally binding and can one party register it without the signature or presence of the other party?

Thanks all.

The marriage must be register to make it legal and yes, both parties have to sign it.

Hi

Yes I agree. It must be registered. The documents will be required to be attested for the visa process As far as I am aware.

I hope this helps

Thanks
