i want to buy an apartment in mauritius, but i am told that as a foreigner, i will pay more than what a resident of mauritius will pay? why???

It is unfortunately impossible to buy a property in Mauritius without holding a permanent residence permit.

You may buy an apartment that is classified for foreigners under the Real Estate Scheme and have to buy an apartment over the amount of USD 500 000.00

it is either eligible to buy or not ?
Since she is a foreigner , she can only buy what is accessible to foreigners : thus the two schemes or the R+2 apt after living here on a resident permit ( or Occupational permit) after 3 years or plucked down US 120K in a bank account to get a retired permit
