Buying an Appartement in Mauritius- being a Foreigner - help!?!

i want to buy an apartment in mauritius, but i am told that as a foreigner, i will pay more than what a resident of mauritius will pay? why???

is this true?

can someone help me?

It is unfortunately impossible to buy a property in Mauritius without holding a permanent residence permit.

it is either eligible to buy or not ?
Since she is a foreigner , she can only buy what is accessible to foreigners : thus the two schemes or the R+2 apt after living here on a resident permit ( or Occupational permit) after 3 years or plucked down US 120K in a bank account to get a retired permit
