Lost passport

Hi I've lost an Irish passport in Siem reap town, I've reported it to police as lost, I know there's not much hope of getting it back. But if anyone finds my passport, I'll get the drinks in.. :)

Report the loss to your embassy.
It's a pain, but not a killer.

There's no embassy in siem reap, 6 hour bus trip to get one, but going tomorrow.
Thanks anyway.

Make a phone call first.
Some embassies require you to make an appointment for anything and everything.
Your place might well be the same, so phone first.

Also - Take every document you have available. Birth certificate and a photocopy of your old passport (if available) will probably make life easier when you get there.
If you have any local ID, or your Irish driving licence, they could well help as well.

Then comes your trip to Cambodia's immigration to sort out visa stamps.

I have a cope of passport and divers licence, that's about it.. Think I should be ok.. Embassy was close over weekend, so I'll ring them today.
Thanks again
:)

Good luck with it all. I know it's going to be a real pain, and I feel for you.

As a note for the future - when I have to carry documents, I use a hidden wallet that sits inside my trousers.
It's close to impossible to lose anything.
