Residence Permit on Old Passport

Hi. We are currently in our home country for vacation. My son had to renew his passport here. When going back to Bahrain, is it okay to just bring both the old passport with the valid residence permit and the new passport? Then, we will just transfer the residence permit to the new passport immediately after arrival in the Kingdom?

Yes, that's the procedure.

Bring your old passport which has the current residence permit. The authorities will endorse the new passport at the airport. Once you are in Bahrain, your employer will have to get the residence permit transferred to the new passport.

Thank you for the response, Farhaz. Appreciate it a lot.  :)

Make certain also that the authorities in your country do not cancel/puncture or destroy/deform the page with the valid visa in the old passport.

This is not a problem, the passport itself may be cancelled; however any visas in that passport remain valid until they expire. Just present the old passport on arrival and then request your company arrange for it to be transferred to the new one.
