Seeing cristo redentor

Hi there
I am hoping to go and see the spectacular cristo redentor this weekend, but uncertain on how to buy tickets. Can I just buy them from Corcovado train station? And how early would you recommend to arrive to avoid the queues?
Your help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Sorry that I can't answer your questions but I thiink that the earlier in the day you go the better the chances are of avoiding lineups.

Perhaps one of our members living in Rio can give you more information.

Just one point I would like to make so it doesn't come as a great dissappointment to you. Many people comment that Cristo Redentor is much smaller than they imagined it to be. Traditionally we always see photos shot at angles that tend to make it look much larger than life. Just like many things in life the reality never quite measures up to the image built around it.

The view, however, is quite spectacular and should not be missed.
