In 1995, BSQ, the British School of Quito was established in the capital.
It was conceived by a former British ambassador to Ecuador and started under a bilateral agreement between the UK and EC. Children aged 3-18 attend and learn English and other subjects.
The school moved and was enlarged in 1997 and now operates in the Quito suburb of Tumbaco.
