I need to buy xanax for panic attacks

Dear all,

I'm new in this forum and need some advice!
I am currently living in Chiang Mai and I will stay here for a few months, unfortunately i suffer from panic attacks and my doctor back in SA prescribed me xanax. I have to take it every day for a few months and I also have my prescritpion and an additional paper explaining my condition.

Is there a way to buy xanax in Chiang Mai, without going to the hospital? I lived in Thailand for almost a year in 2013 and it was very challenging to find it in pharmacies. I had to go to the hospital where, after assesing my condition, they would just give me 10 pills. It's obviously not enough and I can't go to the hospital every week.

I can't even stop the treament at the moment as the only time i tried i was brought to the emergency room in very bad conditions.

Any help would be much appreciated. Im running out of my stock and I don't know what to do.
Thanks in advance for your help

I think it was back in 2013 That Thailand Government bans Xanax ??
And only to be sold from Hospital, And only a few pills every time.

Don´t know if they drop that ban again ??

Thailand have a list of "Dangerous" Medicine, Only to be sold from some hospitals, And only a few every time.

Thailand is a "little" Strange whit a lot of medicine for us to buy here.

BUT, If you can find a pharmacies that sell them, Try and ask them to order more home, If it is possibly.
Make a order for how may you need 100-200-500 pills and so on, And maybe they can help you out.

If they help, remember at little tip :-)

I know a friend of mine doing this for other kind of medicine, Because he have big problem get hes medicine here.

Hope you find a solution to your problem.

Thanks, i reall do hope that a pharmacy in here will be able to help me. In Bangkok i found one that sold valium and xanax. Was very expensive but i had no choice really. This situation is really bad as I understand the reason why the ban it, but what about those people who really need it?

Most of the people don't know about it but stop taking the medicine abruptely can be very dangerous and also put your life at risk. Unfortunately in Thailand they don't seem to care about this. As long as they respect the rules.

I read that someone knew about a pharmacy in Chiang Mai that was able to provide xanax, if he's still active on the forum, he could maybe give me the name, as I can't go around town and ask every single pharmacy, feeling humiliated as they think I'm a drug addict or something.

it happened so many times during my trip. They always assume that I use it recreationally and I wish I didn't have to go trough all this, because it's really bad. Not only I have panic attacks but I can't even find my medicine available here.

Thanks anyway for your comment. I even wrote an email to the hospital explaining my situation but they never replied. Not sure whether is better to go there directly or try at the pharmacy first.

Thanks!

You can buy it on the street along early Sukhumvit. Obviously do this with caution, but I found someone there I could trust after a while. Some pharmacies will also sell it. You have to ask around

Thanks for your reply!

I don't want to ask on the streets honestly, but for the pharmacies I have to ask around I guess. Going today, and hope to have luck, otherwise I'll need to head to the hospital. What a nightmare.

Why buy it on the street ??

There is a good chance that that Medicine is not what one is after.
Only make to look like it, One never know what inside it.
Might be the real thing, But again it might not be.
It can be a big gamble with you own live.
And that chance are to big, Well for me it is.

You don't have to ask on the streets, as they are advertised with big signs. It's not as dodgy as it seems. Besides, you can always try one packet and go back for more. I have and a friend have used them and they are fine.

Yes, I'd rather not risk that much.
I have a condition that needs to be treated and I'm going to buy it either at the hospital or a pharmacy... problem is that i don't know which pharmacies sell it here in chiang mai. Let's see..

I saw the same signs in Bangkok, but honestly I would never try it as if im not lucky I would be in big trouble and i cant risk that much. I hope someone knows the name of a good pharmacy that is willing to sell to people who really needs it, otherwise i have to go to the hospital and use these days to search every pharmacy in town. Again, is a real nightmare!!

Update: I was able to find a Pharmacy that had it, and after explaining my situation in detail and showed my medical records, they gave me the pills to cover 1 month. They could have given me even more pills, but since they are very expensive compared to the hospital, next month I will try to talk to a specialist to see if they can give me the pills in there to cover another month at a reasonable price.

Thanks for your help!

pharmacy every block here....simply amazing. so many viagra cialis signs lol

Hi best thing you can do is foget about xanax it will make you feel a lot worse the longer you take it it is to addictive  I suffer from the same thing  I just have a beer only if  I get one really bad. Its not as addictive as the pill s

Go online and find a good pharmacy in India.  Tablets are cheap.

Thaihank

Find a family doctor and establish a relationship.
Good health and sabai.

Try this pharmacy in Northeast Thailand, they can ship to your local post office in a couple of days, you pay when you pick up the package.  You will probably need someone who speaks Thai to talk to them.  You should try something else that is not so addicted, and stay on it all the time. The other thing you can do is go to a doctor, explain the problem, and ask him to order monthy for you. Wait till you get the drug first before seeing the doctor otherwise he may think you are a drug addict. He has 1.0 tabs but they are 1.40 baht apiece. Phone 0939565199 Name is Godzilla, got to love that, very nice guy. Good luck to you.  Patrick

This post is naive, to say the least.

Xanax is an insidiously benign-seeming drug that has dangerous consequences down the line.

I started taking it regularly in Thailand -- for insomnia -- on my many trips from the U.S. (1999-2006) and would stock up on it without a prescription.  It was readily available over-the-counter in Chiang Mai during those years.

After building a tolerance and encountering stressful life situations c. 2006, I increased the dosage several times.

Eventually, my insomnia became chronic, my life crashed and yet I knew enough to enter a detox center.  After the week of necessary hell there (including 44 straight hours unable to sleep after eliminating the drug) and months of re-hab, I eventually regained most of my health.

Do not take Xanax without a doctor's supervision.

Do not take alcohol or wine if taking this drug.

Do not discontinue this drug without medical supervision.

Do not believe that because this poster and his friend were "fine" that you won't be on a path to self-destruction.

There are other pharmaceuticals that do not have the same downsides as this one.  Have a knowledgeable doctor assist you and monitor you.  Doing so saved me.

I agree, you can't assume that if it was ok for one person it will work for you.  Be careful you are playing with your own life, is it worth it.  Some people have to Crash before they can figure things out. Hope that is not you. Make the right decision.  The easy solution is not always the best. Get some Help. Good Luck

Xanax are powerful sleeping pills, they are not for panic attacks. Valium may serve you better.

Xanax are used as knockout pills usually mixed in a foreigners drink by a Thai lady, so she can get him unconcious and rob him, without even having to have sex....

I think the govt. is trying to get them out of the stores.

Hi saw your problem iwth getting xanax i take ethem fo help me slleep at nigh, i dont heva e any problem wit getting plenty of pills fro my hoapsital here so dont know why the hospital there is only giving you small amounts, im no
doctor but have to agree with the guy on here you should look for an alternative pill as xanax is classed as a
powerful drug although my self i woiuld `nt agree with that comment, the stock i get here is 1.5 bhat but when i got in Pattay it was 21 baht for 1 tablet so you should be abke to find a pharmacy that sell s them but its going you cost you a lot more than a hospital as the pharmacies have to pay the police here to hold those type of drugs.
some good advice on here, but im not getting hooked on it at all i just atke 1 at night if i wake up early sometimes i take 1 more but i think you have to be strong minde about taking tablets for any condition , go to another hspiatl 7 have a chat with the doctor there , i have p/work document from a doctor at a clinic sying that i take xanax for anxiety cant make out that decision 1 bit but guves you some rights to take that pill into another country, if you suffer with panic attacks a suitable drug to take for that my ex boss was ahospital dotor so if yu still haing this problem contact me & i will email him for a suggested drug fo ryour condition but sounds like you are getting very stressed about this, you need a drug that will calm you down dont think xanax is your solution though, good luck
& keep calm down get stressed out ok.

Perhaps you could try to exercise or do something physical during the day that increases your heart rate - and meditate - find quiet moments throughout the day. I have had sleep issues here and when I work on a project I sleep quite soundly.

I happen to know that this poster had perfect grammar and spelling before getting hooked on this product.

....you need to get off them, they are CAUSING the 'panic attacks'. which are , in fact , withdrawal symptoms from being addicted to Xanax, You most probably require medical supervision to get off them; It would be easier if you switched to one of the longer acting benzodiazepines (the category of drug xanax/alprazolam belongs to), such as Valium/Diazepam, or Librium/ Chlorediazepoxide. XANAX was notoriously popular amongst junkies in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 1980's, when they were known as 'Upjohns', the name of one of the commercial manfacturers. I think they were taken off the market....they are chemically similar to alcohol, and can bring about the  same horrendous withdrawal symptoms. I speak from hard experience, and wish you the best of luck.

During my week at the detox center, a doctor gave us a presentation illustrating Rollini's message -- how both benzos and alcohol mess with the connections in the brain.

This is one reason why it is critical not to drink alcohol if taking benzos.

Great recommend...to not use the medicine... I use to be depressed before but I do exercise and it helps.

I think she meant I used to be depressed.

hahaha, sorry for my poor English...

I just made a post inquiring about this very thing and my topic was removed without an explanation. Since apparently it's a perfectly fine topic if created by someone else, I just wanted to ask if it's still possible in 2023 to purchase these over the counter? Because things may have really changed since this thread was created. Sorry if this topic upsets anybody. And I was primarily asking about Bangkok, though anywhere in Thailand or SE Asia could be of help. Thanks
