(Moderated: No racist comment). Ethiopia is not a place for disabled people. Myself I'm only coming to Ethopia because of one man. I am sad to write down such a harsh statement but it is my impression and my sadness.
Whether there are suitable schools I can't say. Just to tell you to be aware of getting insulted and pointed with their (moderated: inappropriate comment) fingers. I am crying seeing disabled Ethiopian people set out on streets for BEGGING (!) from their own families! Maybe you can work as a role model to treat your kid as "normal" (sorry).
I wish you all the best.

Hi
I have a 7 yr old girl with down syndrome. Currently looking for school for next year.
She been going to nursary school. I a bit stressed because most remedial schools told me that they don't take children with down syndrome. Private schools are quite expensive.
Currently staying in roodeport. Pleasure share information with regards to school I van approach.
Thanks
Unfortunately, ICS and Andinet are the only ones I have heard of
Education for children with Special Needs is desperately needed and almost non existence -
I am an Education Specialist from the US and created H2T as an international center for children ages 6 months to age 6 - 9 years ago.
We have started a program for younger children with special needs - at this time specifically Autism. Myself and some parents of ours are interested in continuing the program up through elementary and hopefully beyond - a big project that won't be ready until August 2018.
please contact me if you would like more information or if I can be of any further help on your move/transition to addis!
