luxury beach boutique hotel in oman? (help a lifetime expat)

hi. i am a lifetime expat flying through oman. i'd like to stop and spend 3-4 days at a luxury boutique beach hotel.
everything i have found seems like a large resort. i was hoping to find something smaller and more arty and low key.
not mega pools with flocks of kids and sterile looking business-style rooms.
i did find Six Senses but it is $1000/night. was hoping for something under $500.

any tips?
thanks a ton. always value insight from those living on the ground.
