hi guys. I'm not a Libya expat, but I'm very curious in the situation. (and this forum seems to be a good place to ask for opinions of real people).

I have read in news, articles and other internet resources that the life in Libya was very good (high living standards, high salaries etc) in the times of the former leader M. Gaddafi. And that the revolution was orchestrated by the US.

The problem is that the news material in the internet is very controversial - some journalists say one thing, the others say totally different. So what was the real situation?
