Salary in IT in Graz

Hi all,

I'm about to accept an offer to relocate in Graz. But to be honest, I would like to have your idea. IT is a little bit wide so let's say, It's specialized branch in IT (more about embedded software engineer).

I have 6 years of experience and hold a Master degree. What do you think of a package of 50k€ per year (on 14-month basis), As they showed me in the netto result, I'll receive around 2600€/month (12-month basis). Finding information about Austria is particularly difficult if you dont know german. I just want to know is this a good offer for someone in the same experience catergory.

I have of course other questions but I'll ask seperately as this thread is solely for salary request.

Thank you in advance.

Damien

Hi and welcome to the forum

You could try this website for salary www.payscale.com or Google search.

Works out equivalent 2100 pounds sterling/month. Certainly would be considered well paid in Austria, but then you are highly qualified and a specialist in your field. You must factor in that living costs in Austria are about 20% more than the UK. Is the accommodation free?  You can only cut food bills by permanently shopping in Hofer(Aldi), if not too far to travel. Transport in Graz is very good, worth investing in a 12 month travel pass, which includes trams and busses, as well as the 'S' Bahn-local trains from surrounding villages or small towns. Good luck!
