A pool or not?

Hi,
We are moving to Athens from the UK........... Now!!!!! Eek!
We need to find a property as soon as possible & will be house hunting in Northern Athens around Kifissia at the weekend.
We will be looking at long term rentals & I am curious to know what type of property you recommend?
Should we go for a property with a pool or one without & join a club with a pool?
As we will be committing to the rental for a year, I don't want us to regret things later on. Any recommendations or previous experiences very welcome.
xx

Found a place in Kifisia & move in a few weeks!! I saw 20 properties in 5 days & was exhausted. But we finally found somewhere which is good. ;)

GREAT !
We live in Kifisia as well. and my house have a private indoor swimming pool. hehe..
The mega gym is in Nea kifisia, if you look on google maps this is the address : Ilission 29, Kifissia - Nea Kifissia, 14564, ATTICA. They have personal training class which i would like to get some info and do a comparison with another gym.

If you have no experience owning a pool beware: A pool is a financial decision much more that that of the pleasure it provides...unless u r a 10%er. If you can afford it and won't miss the money then go for it but its an open money drain that you cannot just decide to not pay...unless you drain the pool. If you have a functioning pool it will cost you and I'm not including the pool man. I had a pool in the San Diego Area and it cost me an extra $350 per month in electricity, which was more than my other monthly house expenses combined. That's without heating it since in SD a bubble top and bottom cleaning robot provide plenty of sunlit warm water. You don't have the option not to run the filter pump every day for hours and I am not sure what electricity costs here but I would bet more than in SD. Living in Kifisia allows you quick access to the north coast of Attica. Though there are lots of pools here, they are a luxury that one can live without given the beautiful water here. But the allure and convenience cannot be overstressed. Its a choice like everything else! Good luck finding one you like along with a house you like!
