Is there any authentic news / confirmation if we can go for Umrah now?
or is it legally closed?
I plan to go for Umrah on the coming weekend ?

Yes you can for umrah until Zul Hija Starts .. there is no problem at all ..

One of our Office Colleges he went to Umrah Last Weekend .
The Police on the Check Post stopped him and ask for his Iqama and noted it down .
At the Same time the Police asked him if he did not knew that Umrah is closed now ( Prohibited )
so is there any official news

No their is no official new regarding closed or anything .. As per islamic law no one stop us to go and perform umrah before zul hija .. Anyway I will check again today and reply you back ..

Brothers,
As a practice, Umrah is not encouraged by the government long before the start of Hajj also. Officially the government close down all the private Umrah operators before Hajj. So, the point is, Umrah do get stopped before Hajj and it is not continued until Hajj. To know the exact dates, you can contact any private Umrah operator, they would provide you the correct information.
