My wife and I are looking into living in the Bahamas, beginning in 2012. We'd like to live there a year. I cannot tell exactly what the entry requirements are for one year. Do we need to apply through the embassy? Is a visa required for one year of living there? I can't get the embassy to return emails or calls and I'm looking for help. Has anyone out there gone through this, in order to live in the Bahamas for one year only?

I did check the website of Bahamas official portal but infortunately the link to the visa requirements is incorrect!

Its extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone at the Nassau Embassy.
When I landed in Nassau in Feb, the customs man told us we had to apply for visitors permit every 30 days - some new rule we never heard of. Wehave been living there off and on for 6 years and our visits lasted from 3 - 5 months. Try approaching a Bahamian Embassy in US for a quicker reply.
