Hi, it is very confusing because i have applied directly through the university. I need to do the work visa and medical myself. i have got my final contract and block visa....what do i do next? no help on the embassy site.

Do the medical next - there's a list of places on the embassy website. I did mine recently in London and it cost a fortune. Then you need to send the report to the FCO to get it authenticated (more money) before you can apply for the visa. As I understand it, you apply and pay online and then need to send all the required documents to the Consulate or go yourself there. Hope that helps. Keep us updated...
