I tried to register as a resident in order to get my driving licence finally (yes, I know, I didnt have time in the past).
to my surprise, I am not able to since, immigration office does not accept my dutch insurance card, saying it is private..

can I get cheap insurance in Romania? Could you provide links?

You can get it from Groupama and its also acceptable for immigration

Hi!! I had the same problem, so someone at immigration suggested me to buy an insurance at Astra Asiguari, here is the link https://www.astrasig.ro/ and the cost was very cheap, 28Euro... Good luck!
