Brothers Clinic

hi has anyone been to and used Brothers Clinic in Tripoli?
If so,what's it like?
thanks!

Hi

Actually it's a private clinic and I can tell you more if you I know exactly what do you want to know about it, I'm Ayman and I've lived in Libya/ Tripoli for the past few years, Take care.

Hi Ayman- thanks for your response.  I was just checking out as to what our insurance covers by my husband's company as we will be moving over at the beginning of Sept.  We use Bupa and been advised that they are contracted with Brothers clinic.  So wondering whether the services/doctors/english are very good - but as you said it's a private clinic, so I would assume it's very good?!

We were given a website for it and unfortunately it didn't look too appealing, that's why I put my query out as looks can be deceiving ;).

Thanks!

Hi again ma'am

I'll be more specific cos I like to help people. Here in Tripoli private doesn't mean it's good. Meaning private clinics will spare you the waiting hours, that's it, more specific if God forbid case is critical I don't recommend it, why cos ex in the public hospitals like the Tripoli Medical Center Hospital they have more sophisticated equipments worth thousands of dollars which private clinics don't provide. Second brother clinic is good but it's a small clinic and I think there are better clinics. That's all I can say.

Best Regards.

Hi

Me and my husband have just moved to Tripoli recently.  We are looking for, as I asume most newcomer expats are, for a good clinic. At the moment what we urgently need is a good dermatologist.  Ayman, could you suggest what you think is the best clinic that might provide with a good dermatology department? (Doctor for Skin cancer to be more specific) It doesn't really matter if its private or public, I guess the advantage from the private is the language, but then again I am just asuming, don't really know.  We have been recommenden St. James and Swiss clinic, but you seem to have good authentic knowledge on this and not only led on assumptions on them being from private dominance.

Thank you!

Jen

in this case you have to go with treatment in right steps. Well I don't have a good one for my knowledge cos skin is a good subject to me, but I will try to look into it. I will tell negatively or positively.

I was also recommended the St James Clinic for Dermatology from locals and expats.  Have yet to check it out, but will give a thumbs up or down once I go.  As for local clinics, I have not found a Libyan doctor who cannot speak English.  Medical education here in Libya is in English.  There are many who have studied in Canada and the US for their specialization and can provide excellent medical care. Like any place, there are good and bad doctors.  Sometimes all that shines is not real gold. :)

Hi!!!

I completely agree bluejay! I'm going to go for St. James as a start, we are close by and it has been the one to get most recomendations regarding dermatology!

I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks!

bluejay is right, try St. James Medical Center. All the best with your efforts

would you recommend any others if Tripoli?

Well,u can try Libyan Swiss British Medical Center,Ben Ashour,
Jraba Street for quality specialists or there is a huge Private clinic facing the main Road in Souk Al Juma.
Actually Medical & Quality Education are exceptionally costly is what i have observed in past 02 months of my stay but then one cant fault the environment ; i mean barring cold or viral flu many seasonal fevers/stains due to mosquito bites/water borne bacterial infections which we get exposed or are witness to in Sub-Tropical India e.g. Dengu,Malaria,Typhoid,Jaundice etc are amiss.People now i am told have started suffering from lifestyle diseases like High BP,Blood Sugar etc.The coastal Belt is free of many diseases, otherwise.Rest perhaps the duration of our stay will amplify.NO? However the doctors whom i have met have all been very conversant in English.

Thanks Mintoo,
I was asking out of interest really. I'm going to be working in Tripoli as a nurse and was wondering how the clinic i'm headed to rated - it's not mentioned but i am sure that it's fine....!!! have heard mixed things about the healthcare system in Libya but everything I read on here points to good, if basic, healthcare.
Thanks again for the reply and I hope that you and your family continue to enjoy good health!
