Theatre In Abu Dhabi

Does anyone have any details on theatres in Abu Dhabi?

Hi Chris,

in abu dhabi there is "music and art foundation" which organizes different shows mostly concerts and invites oprea singers through the year, but in dubai you can find "dubai community theater", which is good you can check thier website here: ductac.org/

Thanks for the reply. My brother ahs a Theatre Production Company in London and he is looking to bring shows to ABu Dhabi. In MArch he brought a show to DUbai and now he wants to bring the same show to ABU Dhabi.

Check out the site [moderated: no free ads please!]

As he is a very well known english TV and Theatre actor, he is able to cast the shows using amazingly talented actors from the West End Theatres of London.

He is also looking to come to Dubai and give acting work shops.

Google him JAMES GADDAS, you'll see all the many things he has done. His workshops are excellent and are based on 30 years experience of working in TV, Film and Theatre in Leading roles.

Any suggestions for venues for the work shops would be greatly appreciated and any details of Theatre Venues in Abui Dhabi would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

I think the best thing is to contact Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), http://www.abudhabitourism.ae/en/default.aspx for it is the one who organises such events here in Abu Dhabi.

Good luck, and hope to see you guys here on the stage

Hi Chris!!!

Most of the shows are performed in ADNEC, ABU DHABI NATIONAL EXIBITION CENTER, there is a National Theater too and some shows take also place at the Emirates Palace. But as noonenose has recommend you, through the tourism authority is the best way, and the cultural heritage fundation.

Hope see you soon.

I will be living in Al Ain in just a few short weeks. Al Ain has an excellent wildlife zoo, camel market and beautiful mountains.  They are the fourth largest city.  Do they also offer theater or other cultural entertainment?

Hi Svoebel,

thanks for leaving a comment. I don't arrive in Abu Dhabi until next week, but as soon as I do I will find out for you. Please contact me when you start your cookery classes I would love to attend.

Chris

Anything to do with food sounds good :)

Thanks for the above links.

I found a link to an announcement regarding the groundbreaking of a new convention center in Al Ain (April 2010) scheduled to be completed in 2012. This will include a Library and Cultural center. If it is anything like the one being built in Doha, Qatar, it will be excellent.

One of the most organized sites I found for information was the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage. Be certain to check the event calendar, as well as the link to News. There is no visual "at a glance" calendar that unifies all events. This would be an excellent addition to their page and help organize everything into one easy to visualize calendar Items and events are posted in many areas of the website, so be sure to check all the submenus. Items are not cross posted.  Definitely, one of the most informative sites I have found in the UAE!

I tried many times loading the page, but the page never loaded. I have a high speed connection, so perhaps their server is down or there is another technical problem?
I have no idea how you would contact them.
