Internet Usage in KSA

Hello everyone,

It looks like I'll be moving to Saudi Arabia in September to teach English. I've done a good amount of research and I think I'm as mentally prepared as I can be, but still very excited and anxious. ;)

One question I do have is about the internet. I hear that they censor a lot of things there, but to what extent? To be specific: could I still use facebook, expat-blogs, skype, yahoo freely?

Thanks for any and all information!

See you in the sand dunes soon!

M

Yes you can use all of these normally, and even if you need to use one of the blocked sites you can still use proxies to access it, I personally use them to access file sharing websites and they work fine...

AWESOME! I'm not too internet-savy. What type of proxies do you use? website addresses?
