Before you register as self employed, look into forming a company and being a director.   Could save you some beans.

However, be aware that most of the people who will quote you to set up a company will charge you around £1000.   You can actually do it yourself for less than £100.   It takes a company doing this for you about an hour and then a stroll down the street to company's house.    That's £50 for the hour and £950 for the stroll as they need to pay for shoe leather, a coffee on the way, a sandwich and coffee on the way back plus their time?????   To add insult to injury they will also make heaps of cockups which will take months to sort out.   Once bitten, twice shy is common place here.
