What is the real official language in Switzerland?

Wikipedia says your country has many official languages? Is it true?? That means you will have to know  German, French, Romansh, Italian all these languages to work in an office?? :o

On any govt. sites or in govt. offices there are forms etc. in at least the main three languages - German, French and Italian.
IMO Romansh is hardly more than a cultural folk language and can be forgotten.
In a place of work - in say the German-speaking part - German is obviously needed. Depending on the job you are doing one of the other official languages might be required but very often, in offices, also English.
In all Swiss schools, apart from the language of their region, all children learn one other national language and then later also English.
In the German-speaking part of Switzerland there is another problem - for foreigners and for Swiss from other regions. That is the Swiss German-speakers don't speak High German but a Swiss dialect.
No, the Swiss German dialects are actually almost different languages. The different dialects are so different from high German that even Germans at first hardly understand a word.

The "real" official language depends on the canton.

Schweizerdeutsch makes as much sense to German speakers as American English to English speakers.
