How to get a visa for a job?

I am a US citizen currently living in Vienna with a residency permit. I was recently offered a job at a kindergarten, but I'm not sure how to go about applying for a visa through this job (or which visa would apply). The woman who works there said she can help me in whatever way she can, in terms of providing a document to the authorities or something, but I have no idea how to go about this. Or if its even possible. Anyone have ideas?? :)

Hey!
Were you able to get any help from this?
I would suggest to look at the Embassy of the US in Vienna about Visas: https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=360254

From what I understand you can only get temporary work visas unless you are married or have a residency permit, so I am not sure if you are/have both things.

Also, how did you get the job at the kindergarten? I am American and would love to work at a school in Vienna. I am moving there in June.

Hi

Try this website.

migration.gv.at/en/types-of-immigration/permanent-immigration-red-white-red-card.html

I am also actively looking for positions in Austria (am from Australia) but there are no jobs in my field of work.

Anyhow, goodluck

hi --> @    CHELLE,

look this up:

otherwise you should Google which kindergardens or Primary School offer bilingual classes or English lessons and Approach those with your application. For example the Kindergarten & Primary School of Theresianum in 1040 Vienna.

I would got to the American Embassy or you could call in to the Expat Centre in Vienna.
