Looking for an 'english speaking' job! help!!

Hey! So I applied for a work visa and was able to get one for 6 months in italy.
The problem is I assumed that there would be more 'english speaking' jobs here.
i have looked and searched and havent come up with much. i am currently enrolling in a italian course and will be starting soon. I also know alot of italian words and can understand when most people speak but I just find it hard to speak myself.
If anyone has ANY information about available jobs could you please please send me an email. Anything would help!
Grazie mille,

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
Did you have a look at The Classifieds -> jobs section?
Good luck

Ciao Stephanie,
I understand your situation as the job posted over internet very often required the Italian or let put it this way, if you don't speak italian, there is a strong baree very tricky to overcome.
Maybe it would help to understand why you came to Milan versus anyother more English speaking country, do you have any professional target in here?
What you may try is to look on the offers for stage or contract "apprendista". It would be easier I think to find a position, obviously the salary will be less attractive but it's a first step and then when you are on the inside, everything can happen.
Otherwise, it depends your degree, specialisation and competence as everywhere else. I would recommend to contact the global company specially the anglo-saxon one, which would be more keen to get english "only" speaking person.
And learn as quick as you can the Italian :)
Good luck
Christophe

hi did you found a job now?..i also job seeker if you know something can you help me? thankz

Hi everyone. I just arrived in Milan as well. I'm currently studying the language (I find it kinda difficult), but Im trying my best. I study at home exhausting all possible resources. However, I think I had little progress, and will probably take some time. I am a licensed CPA in the Philippines with little experience (5 months) as an auditor in one of the biggest multinational audit firms. I have fluent English speaking and writing skills , and often I am being told I exceed expectations in this regard. However, I think my inability to speak the language will be a disadvantage in finding employment opportunities here aligned with my educational background and previous work experience. Your advice and referrals would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Dear Milandrew, how old are you and what is your nationality? What did you do about your accommodation in Milan as i am arriving there on 20th. of Aug. for at least 2-3 month stay and am not familiar with Milan. Your reply will be appreciated

It s very difficult to find a job here in milan and italy as a whole. Since there are crisis..

Hello,

I saw this post and am in need of some guidance ASAP.

I found out today I failed my A-Levels :( I am currently living in Italy, Treviso and need to think for the future. I have been in Italy for a month now and have 11 more to complete. I have fallen in love with Italy and wish to stay here after my time Au-Pairing is over.

The problem I have is I have no qualifications other then GCSE's and AS-levels. I was wondering if anyone can help me find jobs I can get once I finish Au-Pairing that will ensure my stay in Italy. I love children hence why I am Au-Pairing and want to become a teacher is there any hope for me?

I am looking for friends who are English to keep me company in Treviso also! :)

Any advice would help me.

You can't insist on an english speaking job. Ofcourse you get lucky once in a while. I advise you to keep learning italian and hopefully you will find something. Cheers

I really need to find a job asap! Any suggestions??

@ mwantland1 > This topic is really very old (2010).

It would be best if you can post your job request in the jobs section here : https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/europe/italy/milan/ as it is the most appropriate section for your job ad. Also note that you should give more information about yourself in the job ad.

Thanks

Priscilla
