There are so many gated communities shown in Belize. Are there any established and safe gated communities in Belize where retired people have actually built houses and live?

I don't know how many gated communities there are....but IMHO if you are looking for a "safe gated community" then perhaps you should stay where you are. Why move to Belize to live in a gated community? We moved to Belize to enjoy Belize and her people, we do not live in a gated community nor even close to one and we have never been sorry for that choice. We feel safe where we live.
