Trying to Sell or ship gold coin

When I had a gold coin delivered to me here in Guatemala, I didn't think anything of it. Happens all the time in the US. So now I want to sell it, but DHL, Fedex and Caniz all refuse to ship coins. And El Correo does not insure anything. Any ideas, aside from spending $600 on a plane ticket to the US?

There are so many people traveling between Guate and the US that is should be relatively easy to find someone to do the work for you. As an example of a similar problem, I had some damaged $100 bills that the Bank of Guatemala would not accept.

My "credit union" (Cooperativa Colua in Panajachel) said they had a client who was going to head to the US soon and, if I wanted, they could ask him to take them with him and do the exchange.
