Exam to become a tax accountant in Malta

HI!
With a degree in economics and business in Italy, someone can tell me who you should contact to take the exam to become a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Malta?

Hi jessica,

have a look at the website of the Maltese Institute of Accountants:

http://www.miamalta.org/Page.aspx?pageid=83

as to where you stand with your qualifications.

The 3 years of practical experience seems to be an issue too.

It is not just about taking an exam it seems!

Cheers
Ricky

Thanks Ricky!!
The 3 years of practical experience i did in Italy... do you think i will do The 3 years of practical experience in Malta Too?

Hi Jessica,

you will have to present all your certificates and qualifications here in Malta so that they can be recognized by the Accountancy Board. They might try to require practical experience in Malta.

As you probably know there are lots of accountants being churned out here in Malta so it is possible that they will try to be 'protective' of their jobs.

You should just start the process and see how far you get.

Cheers
Ricky

Thanks You Ricky!!

First you need to recognize your diploma via MQRIC

Then you apply to MIA for 2 exams: local law and taxation (F4 and P6 in ACCA qualification).

Then you provide all information (diploma, exam results and experience records) to Accountancy Board. They will provide you with the special form to confirm the previous experience.

Wait around 6 months and receive your warrant :)
