Apparently there are statutes against making noise (power tools and machinery, for instance) on holidays. Does anyone have experience with this? I can't find anything online.
As an ex-California suburbanite, I am relieved by this. On the other hand, we didn't know about it last Saturday when my husband disturbed the neighbours with his petrol-powered strimmer.
