Checks

Hello,

An acquaintance in the USA sent me a check.  I don't have any bank account in the State, through which I could process the check.  Is there any way to cash a US check here in Mongolia?  I have a shared bank account at Khaan bank, & went to two Khaan bank branches, plus a Golomt Bank not far from the Black Market.  The staff told me they couldn't cash the check & to try another bank.
