Hello everyone....my wife and I have read SOOOO MANY blogs about Chang Mai that we forgo the Thailand Tour and simply fly from Ho Chi Minh City (Viet Nam) to BKK and to Chang Mai.

Having said that, PLEASE HELP. What airline flies from HCMC to BKK? Is there an airline that flies DIRECTLY from HCMC to Chang Mai? Is there such a flight?

When arriving in Chang Mai, where is the BEST place to get exchange money? We've seen how beautiful the Mai Siam Resort is...is there a BETTER Place than Mai Siam Resort that is cheaper and offer Private Bungalow?

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

No direct flights that I know of but check out flights from Vietnam to Chang Mai via Vientiane or Luang Prabang in Laos.

Perhaps a short stopover in Vientiane. Check out Lao Airlines.

Hi, try Air Asia, the low cost airline. Direct from Ho chi min to Bkk then take the same air line to Chiangmai for just another 1hr. They often provide a cheap deal tickets. Cheers.
