Hi Anne....will you be living in Amsterdam? They expat community is pretty big and there's a lot of activities to get involved with. One particular meet up group that meets often is laughingatpotatoes.com

Hi Anne, there is a group in Delft called "The Delftians" which is for expats. They seem to have lots going on - that could be a good place to start. If you google them you should find their site.
