I think one can see it from different angles and yours is a correct point of view. Arabic music is based on expression, especially lyrics and voice. The music itself has become more modern with time... I find too that songs have become more dramatic, probably talking about experiences and life... That is the advantage that they can open their hearts to millions either with a song or on tv I like it though when they keep the middle eastern touch especially drums...
