You'll make friends easily, I wouldnt worry abt finding bars or clubs

There is also a website 100 best bars in jakarta that I found useful.

Lots of good bars in Jakarta, depends where you live

My only advice is don't go to bats, CJs or Eastern Promise unless you are with friends. Or just don't go there are lots of other places

I think Eastern Promise is fine
Its just a bar for you to enjoy the beers and other drinks, middle room is a restaurant that serves pretty good Indian food. Back in the garden they usually have live music performance at some nights. People who come there are mostly regulars who live in the area.
Playing pool would be a gd idea if you want to mingle with others.  Friendly people, I should say.

Bats has lots of working girls, but more foreigners looking for these girls. If you come alone, most likely the girls will try to approach you. So yes, better come with friends.
CJ's on the other hand has lots of aggresive working girls. I went there once with my friends, guys and girls, once we arrived, the girls started touching my guy friends and didnt even care that they came with us girls.

Go wherever tnat suits your prefferences :-)
