Yellow Fever shots while entering kenya

I will be traveling to kenya from US-Amsterdam-Nairobi. I do understand the Yellow fever shot is not required but only recommended. If I do not get the shot and travel, is there a chance of forced vaccination at the Nairobi airport?

Kenyan embassy mentioned that people are randomly checked for Yellow Fever shots.

Hi,

We were in Nairobi a couple of weeks ago and as long as you are travelling from and through countries free of yellow fever the jab is for your protection an not mandatory.

If however you come via a country with known outbreaks you must have the yellow fever jab ( and it takes 10 days to become effective) this is to protect Kenya from an outbreak of yellow fever....not you !

We found it difficult to get an answer and this is just my understanding but it was fine for us...... We are moving to Nairobi next month so have just had the jab to be on the safe side.
