My husband have work permit, working visa 1 year in Laos (and renew each year) and we are living in Bachieng district, Champasak province (KM21 from Pakse).
We want to buy a new car (Huyndai I10) 14.500 USD in Pakse now. I wonder if my husband has work permit with company in Laos, working visa in Laos, can we buy a new car and register with my husband name? He has Laos driving licence, too. Or we have to borrow Lao people who help to register?
If we can, what we have to do and any application, where we need to apply?

Should not be a problem.
May be you should check with the car dealer about this. If they want to sell you a car they will be only to happy to assist you. !!

Thanks so much for your reply. We asked dealer already. They said if we register by Lao people (Lao citizen), it is easier for us to transit our car to Thailand. If register by our name (Vietnamese citizen), we can not transit car to Thailand, only to Vietnam & Cambodia. Is it right?
And they said, if register by us, the tax and fee is higher. I am not sure about this problem. Can you have any ideas?
