Places to visit in Uzbekistan

Hi,

For the ones living in Uzbekistan, what would you suggest to discover the country?

When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Uzbekistan, the tourist sites?

How to visit the country in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?

What would you suggest for a couple of days of for a week of holidays in Uzbekistan?

Thank you in advance for participating. ;)

Julie

Hey hey,

How are you doing?
It's easy to get visa to Uzbekistan. All you have to do is find the right tour agency at your place and they will arrange visa, flight tickets and hotel.
Big problem in Uzbekistan - people do not speak English. Only Uzbek and Russian. If you are planing to go - you better go with someone who can speak at least Russian or you will have to hire a tour guide in here.
Best places:
1. Tashkent - capital of Uzbekistan. Place of the tallest building in Central Asia, the one and only underground (metro) and one of the most beautiful in the world and etc.
2. Cities on the Silk Road, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva. As a citizen of that country I was so amazed by seeing all those cities. All my life been living in the capital.
Travelling between all those cities better by plane.
Its better to explore cities by walk. Best time to come: Spring and Summer. Be aware that Uzbekistan got 4 seasons. That means winter is very cold (up to -40), summer is very hot (up to +50), spring is very chilly and autumn can be raining and cold.

Enjoy visiting those place.

Let me know if you will need more specific information and details.

Best regards,

Anton
