For the ones living in Shizuoka, what would you suggest to discover the region?
When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Shizuoka, the tourist sites?
How to visit the region in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?
What would you suggest for a couple of days or for a week of holidays in Shizuoka?

without a doubt, the izu peninsula. it is one of the most temperate and beautiful place in shizuoka prefecture, and it contains some of the most comfortable, beautiful, and cheap onsens in all of japan.
plus, the fish is super cheap, it has a super deep cultural significance, and it has super easy access using public transit (especially buses and trains).
let me know if you want some more info. i've lived in izu for a year and half now, so i'm pretty knowledgeable about the awesome stuff it has to offer.
