Insulin Costs

Wonder if anybody can help me...

I am a Type 1 diabetic moving to Lusaka in the very near future and have been researching how to obtain my medical supplies. I am aware that unlike the U.K I will be paying for my supplies. Through my research I have found that there are a good number of chemists who stock Protaphane and Actrapid  insulin. However I have been unable to find out if the insulin is provided in 3 or 10 ml bottles?
I also have an estimate of how much it will cost however I would be grateful if somebody could perhaps give me some more insight on how much I should expect to pay.

Any info would be a great help!

Thanks :)

Hi,

Insulin cost range from KR 145 ( Lantus) - KR 175 (Humalog). Supply is general good, however the disposable pens are hard to come by.

The insulin comes in 10ml bottles...

I would look at bringing in 6 month supplies from UK.. its a lot cheaper...

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply :)

To know my medical needs will be met is a great relief!:D
I'm assuming when I buy the vials I will also be able to buy the syringes and test strips I would need? Is this correct? If so, how much would these cost?

Thanks again:)
