Does anyone have any recommendations for some (hopefully relatively cheap) places to go jet skiing around St Julian's?

Try the:
'Sun and Fun' water sports in St George's Bay - the booking office I think is close to the bars on the side
The water sports at Hilton Portomaso (sorry don't know what's it called)

Unfortunately renting a jet ski in Malta is so expensive and they won't let you stay for a long time. If you find something cheaper than usual can you please pm me?

Thanks Mari. I'll check them out, and get back to you if I can find anything decent.

The going rate seems to be 40 EUR for 15 minutes. Anything cheaper than that (or the same price for a longer time) would be of interest.

Good luck with that....and I seriously mean it!! I have been looking to rent out one myself but I found the same prices as yours or even more expensive

My last resort is Borg's water sports at Golden Sands. Last year I managed to get one for €70 for 30 minutes but cheekily I stayed for nearly an hour
