hi,
I have visited Amsterdam and surroundings back in 2007 and would love to go back and this time take my 10 year old son.

Problem I need some convincing to do so I wanted to buy him a picture book of the Netherlands to get him interested.

Does anyone have any suggestion for anything visual pertaining to the area?

Im not sure about books but there are TONS of people online who have photos from the Netherlands. I can suggest two places to definitely take him while you're in the Netherlands though. The Apenheul, which is located in Apledoorn. It is a completely monkey only zoo where the monkeys roam free. I have photos posted from there on my myspace. If you would like to see them, feel free to email me. The second place is Madurodam. This is a park where the whole of the Netherlands has been miniaturized. I was there 2 years ago when I was 22 and thought it was cool then! They have mini cars on the roadways that move and boats moving and carp enhabit the waterway that were built to emulate the canals, which is funny because they look like whales comparatively.
